The THREDDS Data Server (TDS) is a web server that provides metadata and data access for scientific datasets, using different services such as OPeNDAP, WMS, FileServer and other remote data access protocols.
The OPeNDAP service
OPeNDAP handles transport, translation and subsetting of data. OPeNDAP allows you to access remote data over the internet:
- using familiar data analysis and visualization packages like Matlab, Ferret, IDL,... as if the data were on your computer
- without worrying about data storage formats, translating them on-the-flight (including in ascii), if necessary
- accessing only the data of interest (extracting geographical area, time series...).
The WMS (Web Map Service)
WMS is is a standard protocol for serving georeferenced map images over the Internet. These images are typically produced by a map server from data provided by a GIS database.
The FileServer Service
Enables to download a set of files
The NetCdfSubset Service
Enables to extract a data sub-set from the Aviso gridded datasets. You can choose either an area (by its geographical coordinates or among pre-defined regions), or a period for variable(s) within a given dataset.
ACCESS TO DATA
All the accesses to the products are summarized on your account on MY AVISO+ in the page "My products".
Note that the access is authentified.
- If you don't have any account on MY AVISO+ , please subscribe:
- If you have an account but you are not subscribed to a product, you will not be able to access the data. Please, log on your account on MY AVISO+ and in the page "My products" you can add a product to your registration
